Steve is an experienced Civil Marriage Celebrant who can provide a very professional yet friendly approach in helping you put in place your own wedding ceremony. His main emphasis is on making your ceremony a lot of fun, whilst providing a 110 percent effort to make sure that it flows extremely
well.
From 1998
each year to 2002, and again in 2004 and 2005, he was judged to be a
Finalist in the Australian Bridal Industry Awards for Excellence, and that
is the level at which he will work with you.
ü
Your
initial contact with Steve will be spent on understanding your needs
with respect to the time, date and location of your wedding. From here, he will write to you both confirming these
details.
ü
As
well, he will provide a sample ceremony for you to look at.
This is designed to get you to think about your own ceremony, and
when you meet with him, he will then create options for you both to put
your own ceremony together, with respect to introduction, poems, vows,
ring ceremony and closing. This
will ensure that your personal service is very special and very individual
to you both.
ü
Included
in his letter will be a Notice of Intended Marriage, which commences
the legal process of being married.
He will indicate those documents which are needed, such as evidence
of your dates of birth (full birth certificates preferably), as well as
passports or evidence of Australian Naturalisation Certificate.
Should either of you have been previously married, evidence of
termination of the last marriage will be needed such as Death Certificate
or Decree Absolute.
ü
Most
importantly, he will give you a guideline as to your fees, which
will assist your budget.
From
an appointment at his home, you will come away with a feeling that the
whole preparation to your special day is well structured and in good hands. Included in handouts that Steve will give you are brochures
provided from the government, illustrating important issues such as
changing your name after marriage, making a will, taxation after marriage,
and other legal things to be considered.
As well, he will provide you with a copy of the Code of
Practice for Civil Marriage Celebrants and a brochure outlining the
availability of education, mediation and counselling services available to
you both now and when you are married
From
his experience, he will also give you flyers covering “Other
Points to Note”, “Helpful Hints For a Stress Free Wedding”, and
most importantly “The Essential
Guide For The Discerning Groom.” These
are particularly good value in assisting you to have a great time on your
special day.
